I'm still plugging away on the challenge books. In the past week, I've scratched off North Dakota, Mississippi, and Louisiana.
Dakota Dawn by Lauraine Snelling
I rate it 7/10
We Are All Welcome Here by Elizabeth Berg
I rate it 8/10
The Devil in Canaan Parish by Jackie Shemwell
I rate it 5/10
And now I'm reading:
Maud's Line by Margaret Verble
You're so good to keep up with the challenge. I'm such a creature of the genre - I know what I like and I find it so hard to read anything else. No very adventurous, am I?
ReplyDeleteI've found this challenge VERY challenging. Not just organizing a book for every state (plus the District of Columbia), but sticking to only U.S. settings has been HARD! I've read a few off-challenge books this year, but then I would get discouraged about not seeing any progress. But I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now! SO close!
DeleteThat should be, not very adventurous...
ReplyDeleteThere are some authors that are so good at describing the locale that you actually feel like you've been there. Settings are one of my favorite things about a good book. I am an arm chair traveler and this book challenge can take you far and wide. I'll have to see if I can figure out how to do it with my audio books.
ReplyDeleteI listened to a few audio books that counted toward the challenge. I can't wait to read international stories again!
