Some assembly required...

Last summer I joined in on the Midnight Mystery Quilt by Meadow Mist Designs.  Each month instructions arrived by email.  The photo above shows the fabrics I selected for this project.

I made some progress, but I didn't keep up with the monthly schedule.  Since January's instructions were for finishing (!), I decided that this HAD to be the project that I took to work on at the quilting retreat.

Here is one finished block.

Here are all the finished but unassembled pieces up on the design wall at the retreat center.  I finished sewing the top with about ten minutes to spare  before heading back home this afternoon.

Once I got home, I laid it across the guest room bed.  I can't wait to take it to be machine quilted!

Yay me!  Yay 2016 Goals progress!

The retreat was SO fun!  Tonight I am stiff from sitting over the sewing machine for the past 4 days, exhausted (and looking forward to sleeping in my own comfy bed tonight), and happy from all the shared laughter and ideas with excellent company.  :)

I have had a lot of really gross spam comments left lately, so I am having to turn comment moderation back on. To my nice blog friends, my apologies if this makes it more difficult for you to comment. To the mean naughty-talk spammers, just go away!
