Whine alert...

I'm tired of the heat.  The summer doldrums have moved in and made themselves at home.  It is unbearably hot, and dry, and my mood is suffering.  It has been over 100 degrees F for about three months now.  It's not even cooling off much at night.

I'm tired of the drought.  Everything is brown and brittle...dead.  We do not bother watering the yard except for the trees to try to save them.

I'm tired of my own company.  I'm cranky.  I'm completely unmotivated.  And my patience wears wafer thin.

But today is the beginning of September.  A friend once told me that we always have at least a brief cool front by about the third week in September.  A hint of Autumn.

So I'm waiting.  Enduring.

  1. I can relate to how you are feeling, it seems exactly like how I feel by late Feb through March, while we wait for the incredibly long winter to pass here in Ontario. But, pass it does. Remember that :)

  2. Oh man, that is one long hot summer! I am afraid I could not bear 3 whole months of 38C! I find that about 24C is at the top of my comfort zone. We seem to be getting more humid summers and the heat just kills me. We are very lucky to have an fully air-cond home with ducting in each room so at least we go to bed cool at night. And we now have it installed at our car dealership too so that makes for more comfortable work time.
I do hope it cools off soon and as Niki says ... it will pass. Then we can all grumble about how cold winter is! He he he!

    Cheers buddy, Joolz

  5. So funny to read this post when we are the opposite hbere in the UK - we've had a terrible summer - cold, wet, miserable. Maybe we should life swap for a couple of weeks?!!

I have had a lot of really gross spam comments left lately, so I am having to turn comment moderation back on. To my nice blog friends, my apologies if this makes it more difficult for you to comment. To the mean naughty-talk spammers, just go away!
