What I'm reading Wednesday...

Open Season by C. J. Box

This is the first book of a popular series by C. J. Box.  The series was recently recommended by Terra on her blog Terra Garden.  Since reading the first book of a new-to-me series fulfills a category of my 2017 Reading Challenge, and since I like to come across a book that I think Carey might also enjoy, and since this one was available as an ebook from my library, it was a shoe in.

So far really enjoying it.

    1. I'm less than a quarter of the way in, but Carey has me watching things like Northwoods Law lately, so the theme of a game warden feels familiar. :)

  2. Kathleen, I hope you enjoy the book and glad to hear you are enjoying it thus far. I am reading one of his recent ones now, Off the Grid. There is a lot of character development with Joe and his family and Nate which is nice, in addition to the danger.

    1. I like the family-man aspect of the story. And the writing is really very good. Glad I read your recommendation. :)

  3. I can't believe I have never read a C. J. Box. Have to try it. I just finished Most Wanted by Lisa Scottoline and now I am starting My Husband's Wife, which I found by accident in a pile of new books at the library and I demanded it. I know I sometimes frighten my library people.

  4. I love checking out ebooks from the library too. So easy to return if you don't like the book, too. I saw your comment on Terra's post about books. I don't meet many people that read Thomas Perry. The books aren't perfect...but I like the twists and turns. I just finished The Butcher's Boy today and it was really good. Most of these I read years ago before I started putting my 'read' books in goodreads. Happy reading! Hugs, Diane

    1. The Jane Whitefield are my favorites. Poor thing...her methods are taxed with all the cyber tracking and cameras everywhere these days. :) Amazon had the Kindle version of the first in that series, Vanishing Act, on sale for $2.15, so I bought it since it is an all-time favorite, and look forward to reading it again.

I have had a lot of really gross spam comments left lately, so I am having to turn comment moderation back on. To my nice blog friends, my apologies if this makes it more difficult for you to comment. To the mean naughty-talk spammers, just go away!
