Sunday dessert...

Only took five minutes.  Quick and easy, AND I had a helper.  :)

Strawberry Fluff
1 angel food cake (store bought or homemade)
1 14 ounce can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
(may substitute one 3.4 ounce pkg of instant vanilla pudding
      prepared as per pkg directions)
  1 cup of sour cream
10 ounces of frozen sweetened strawberries (thawed)
1 8-ounce container of Cool Whip topping (thawed)

Tear angel food cake into large-ish bite-sized pieces and put into a deep bowl.  Mix sweetened condensed milk (or vanilla pudding) and sour cream.  Pour over torn cake.  Pour strawberries on top, and spread to cover.  Top with Cool Whip topping.  Refrigerate until served.  Can be made a day in advance.

You may notice my helper and I got the steps out of order a little.  It doesn't really hurt anything.  This kind of recipe is not an exact science.

  1. It was so lovely to hear your voice, Kath. I haven't seen Cool Whip around here in the shops for so long. I remember it back in the 80's. I don't think we really have an alternative other than whipped cream in an aerosol can but that's not really like Cool Whip...

    1. Thanks, Joolz. Hearing my own recorded voice always makes me uncomfortable thinking that's how I really sound to people...sounds so different in my head. :)

No Cool Whip and nothing comparable?! Please don't tell me it was banned in Australia for being unhealthy. LOL It's so handy to have a container in the freezer. We used to use something called Dream Whip (back in the day before Cool Whip). It's still on the market...it's a powder that you mix with milk and vanilla. Think of the biceps on Mrs. Patmore whipping all that whipped cream from real cream. :)

    1. I always have to lick the inside of the sweetened condensed milk can! LOL! Gotta watch out for those sharp edges. ;-)

    3. Yeah, that helper is pretty cute. :) My voice not so much…always hate the way I sound in recordings.

I like to use sweetened condensed milk to sweeten my iced coffee. Mmmmm…

You’ve probably tasted my Strawberry Fluff, as it was always my ‘go to’ recipe for potlucks. :)

  3. It is just what I was looking for and quite thorough assignment writing
as well. Thanks for posting this, I saw a couple other similar posts but yours was the best so far. The ideas are strongly pointed out and clearly emphasized. australian assignment writers
