Behind Closed Doors by B. A. Paris
I saw Caroline mention she was reading this recently. I put a hold on the ebook at my library's website, but then it came up as a Kindle daily deal, so rather than wait I paid $2.99. It was a much quicker read than my last book, and I read pretty much straight through (started on my Kindle Fire and finished on the re-manufactured Kindle keyboard after it was delivered).
The story line was pretty good. I did get a little impatient with the main character/victim being a little wishy-washy, but all in all it did hold my attention.
Go Away Home by Carol Bodensteiner
I started this one last night. I think because the description reminded me of my mother. And after the election, I just want my mama.
I think the election result in your country has unsettled people around the world. I just pray everything settles down and is not as bad as is feared.
ReplyDeleteMe too, Catherine! Me too.
DeleteIsn't it funny that we want our mother's when things seem so unsurmountable ... I'm sure you'll start to feel better once his 'handlers' get a leash on him ;) Maybe there is a silver lining in this very dark cloud.
ReplyDeleteI can’t believe I didn’t reply before this! Thanks for your comment. I’d feel better if my neighbors took down their signs instead of just moving them around closer to my house. :)
DeleteI just wonder what my Mom and Grandmother would have said about the campaigns. I just finished Alice Hoffman's Faithful instead of tv tonight. I liked it.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, the campaign platforms or the campaign personalities? :) I got on waiting list for Faithful. Thanks for the recommendation.
