1. Made a batch of baked oatmeal for breakfasts. I always make a double batch, then individually wrap them to store in the freezer to take out one at a time.
2. I made sure to plan out errands to try to only make one trip. It was 103 degrees Fahrenheit this week, and nobody wants to be get into a hot car and wait for it to cool off any more than absolutely necessary!
3. A few weeks ago we had a lot of pipe replaced in our front yard. It looked pretty bad after. This week Carey got a load of dirt delivered. Crazy man that he is, he's spreading it by hand in the 100+ degree heat. A kind neighbor drove his tractor over to offer to spread it, but Carey respectfully turned him down with thanks. After having all that pipe replaced, he doesn't want to take any chances with heavy equipment driving over it. :) Spreading by hand is frugal, unless he collapses from heat exhaustion! He's being careful with fluid intake and lots of cool-down breaks.
4. I decluttered and cleaned out two drawers in the master bath. I mean it's not the workout that Carey is currently undertaking, but it doesn't cost anything, and it feels good to have it done.
5. Because I am technically still employed (on an on-call basis) by the company at which our investments are held, some fees and trades are still waived. Though I haven't calculated the savings over the years, twenty plus years of waived fees is a definite savings.
