I was looking through some old posts on my blog today...trying to pin down which years I've completed reading through the Bible...and happened upon this post from April 2009. It was very interesting to see which topics I have completed, which ones no longer interest me, and to find that most I still long to do!
It was entitled, "Along the path to personal growth and happiness."
I would like to...
...have my entire house clean and decluttered all at the same time
...see the King Tut exhibit
...be physically fit
...visit Maine
...Canada
...and Washington DC
...walk for 45 minutes every day
...have another Jack Russell
...take a cruise to Alaska
...start a new Bible study
...finish a quilt for each of my children and grandchildren (four down so far)
...speak Spanish fluently
...spend quality time in a swimming pool
...read more
...paint rooms
...and canvases
...have a vegetable garden
...plant a fig tree
...and a pecan tree
...volunteer for hospice
...learn to make beautiful polymer clay beads
...go bowling
...visit Oregon
...make myself an apron
...and dresses for the girlies
...get all of our photos in albums
...give up TV for a month
...travel to put flowers on my parents' graves
...and to see Kevin and Carla
...have a girls' weekend with Rita May
...and with Nancy
...be able to summer in a cooler climate
...invent something useful
...play with the dogs more
...journal
...send one card/note to someone each week
...install sliding units in several of my cabinets
...make a vintage recipe book
...have a flower garden
...hang clothes to dry outside
...visit Ireland again
...and Debbie in Seattle
...start an Etsy store someday
...if I could think of something to sell
...get my passport stamped a few more times
...visit my reflexologist once a month
...follow through with more of my creative impulses
...play classical guitar
...go down three dress sizes
...sell the stamps I no longer use on e-bay
...take a class in almost anything
The ones I have completed have been struck through. The ones which are no longer relevant have been grayed out. I think I may make this its own page under the blog title to keep these within easy access to remind myself of more often.

Interesting list.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I thought when I found it the other day! :)
DeleteThere is nothing wrong with having goals but why not concentrate on crossing one out per month ? It might be less overwhelming.
ReplyDeleteThis is more of a bucket list, definitely not something I’m in a hurry to finish.
