Saturday's snail mail

My endeavor to mail 52 letters in 52 weeks continues.

I feel really good about starting it over for the new year.  It's been very rewarding for the past two years having a distinct goal and making a real effort to meet it.  I know that there's nothing better, when collecting my mail, than seeing a hand-addressed letter in the pile.  I like knowing that my outgoing letters may carry that feeling with them.

I've been trying to write a bit lengthier letters...newsy...with a photo or two enclosed.  I won't do that with every letter, but when it's appropriate.

  1. What a wonderful idea! I think I have no one to write to but I DO....all four of our kids live away from us---three are all in the Seattle area---within ten minutes of each other----but almost 5 hours away from home. they all migrated over there for jobs---so we try to get over there every month to 6 weeks--no longer.
We can't stand to not see the kids and their kidlets any longer than that. Our yongest and her family live in Ecuador as of August!!! But I could send the grands lots of little treats and hand written letters sure beat the email stuff.
    Hope you are feeling well

  2. Hi, CatieAn. Children LOVE getting mail! Well who doesn't? :) The 52 letters in 52 weeks challenge has reminded me that letter writing is a learned skill, and when my little granddaughters come for a visit, we quite often make cards for them to write letters to their great-grandmother. They love to do it, because she always writes them back. They're learning letter writing AND reciprocity. :)

    Thanks for your comment!

I have had a lot of really gross spam comments left lately, so I am having to turn comment moderation back on. To my nice blog friends, my apologies if this makes it more difficult for you to comment. To the mean naughty-talk spammers, just go away!
