We've been discussing why it seems we have so many more grasshoppers in years when there is so little grass. We assume they are not neccessarily more numerous, just on the move more, looking for food since it's so scarce.
A week or two ago, I caught one in the house that I swore had to be a mutant. It was HUMONGOUS!
The little fellow above (little is a relative term...he was pretty darn big, but not as big as the previously-mentioned capture) was on the back door window a little while ago. I just had to take his picture when he waved hello.
By the way, that's not a grainy picture exactly...just a dirty window. :)
I love the picture! How cool for you to immediately think to snap it--I must train myself that way! C
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this picture, it's so close and detailed. I'm going to show this to the kids tomorrow. We don't see grasshoppers around here very often. So cool!!! They will love it.
ReplyDeleteGlad y'all liked it. I thought maybe it was kinda weird to post.
ReplyDeleteKim, if you click on the photo, it shows full screen, then you can really see detail. :)
