What I'm reading Wednesday...

Last week I started and finished The Indigo Girl by Natasha Boyd, and enjoyed it so much more than I expected to...I rate it 9 out of a possible 10 points.  See my Reading List for my rating and review of all the books I read.

Betrayal by Fern Michaels

This morning I finished Betrayal by Fern Michaels.  It's not my favorite kind of novel.  I don't really like the author's writing style.  Like most prolific authors, her work is too formulaic for my tastes.  I won't be investing any more of my time in reading more of her work.

I think I'll be squeezing in one more book before the year ends, and will probably start it tonight or tomorrow.
All the Little Children by Jo Furniss

In this one a mother takes her children camping.  While they are in the wilderness, they see signs of fires in the distance and they lose all communication.  Sure that something terrible is happening in the world, she decides to stay in the safety of the forest seclusion.

I've decided not to do another reading challenge next year.  This year's challenge was definitely a challenging challenge!  Next year I think I will cut back on my reading time some and try to get more tangible pursuits in...sewing, crafting, cleaning, to name a few things on my list.  My mother would be happy, as she always stressed having something to show for your time, and though she never dissuaded me from reading, she never really encouraged it either.

But I am a reader.  I will definitely be reading, but not at the pace I did this year.  It has been a few years since I've read The One Year Bible, so it will be on my goals list again in 2018.  Each day it has an Old Testament reading, a New Testament reading, a Psalm, and a Proverb.  It's a great way to read through the entire Bible in a year's time.  I've done this several times, and always enjoy it.

  1. I really appreciate your recommendations, going through your reading list I see we like so many in common. I can't imagine being able to read so many but I will try to speed up. I'm reading The Last Suppers now by Mandy Mikulencak, just getting started and just finished Beartown, which I of course liked very much. Thanks.

I have had a lot of really gross spam comments left lately, so I am having to turn comment moderation back on. To my nice blog friends, my apologies if this makes it more difficult for you to comment. To the mean naughty-talk spammers, just go away!
