What I'm reading Wednesday...

The Light Between Oceans by M. L. Stedman

This one has been on my Kindle for a long while.  It has been made into a movie (being released later this year, I think), so thought I'd better get it read.

  1. I hope you like it, because I did and my daughter also. We learned a little about lighthouses along with the good story. but sad.

    1. I'm a little over halfway through it and enjoying it. I love it when a book teaches me something as well as entertains. :)

  2. A good story! I read it a few years ago, didn't know it was going to be made into a movie. Hope you are enjoying it.

    1. They did not cast Australian actors, so I’m not sure how the movie will be.

    1. Just started this one yesterday...not too far into it yet, but so far, so good.

    2. I liked it--gave it 8 out of 10 points. One of my friends read it for a book club and didn't like it at all.

  4. I thought the lighthouse stuff was really interesting and I mostly liked the male character, but his wife just annoyed me with her completely selfish nature.

Although the it was very well written, I thought the story was utterly depressing. Now I have to read something MUCH lighter to pull me out of the doldrums. ;-) Reading an Agatha Raisin mystery by M.C. Beaton now. LOL.

    1. Sorry. I feel like I gave you a bum steer. I felt empathy for the wife, if only for being willing to be pregnant, and have a child so far from any help at all.

    2. Now that's true...I had to give her credit for being willing to live there at all. Especially with her upbringing.

No worries...it was worth the read anyway.
