Grow Your Blog...

GIVEAWAY NOW CLOSED
There were 49 comment entries for the quilted hotpads I made to giveaway for the 2015 Grow Your Blog party.  I used RANDOM.ORG random number generator to pick the winner.

And the winner is Chantal from At the corner of Scrap and Quilts!  Now I'm a little intimidated to send my quilted hotpads to a real quilter.  :)
*****************************************

Leave a comment to win a pair of quilted hot pads!

This year I am participating in the 3rd Annual Grow Your Blog party hosted by Vicki at 2 Bags Full.  If you are participating as well, and are visiting here for the first time, welcome!

My name is Kathleen.  I am a wife, mother, grandmother, knitter, quilter, cardmaker, and general crafter, part-time worker, and blogger.  I've been blogging since 2007.  My blog name, Four Miles North of Nowhere, is a description of where we lived at the time I started writing.  We have since moved, and now live about three miles north of Wal-Mart, but I don't think that has the same ring to it.  :)

I once heard the phrase "a magazine of me," and I think that describes my blogging; part journal, part captain's log, some crafting and recipes, and lately a lot of home renovation progress reports.

I love to give away things that I make.  Since I can't seem to write a blog post lately unless it has the word 'kitchen' mentioned somewhere in it, I think that I will give away A PAIR OF QUILTED HOT PADS LIKE THE ONE PICTURED ABOVE for your kitchen.  They are denim backed, and cotton filled, so they should be serviceable and wear well.  The one above does not have its binding sewn on it yet, but it and its mate will be bound before the giveaway ends...I promise.  (Giveaway does not include my little nesting doll measuring cups or wooden spoon...sorry)

GIVEAWAY IS OPEN TO ALL WHO LEAVE A COMMENT ON THIS POST, and please include an email address or blog address so that I can contact you if you win.  Frequent visitor or first-time visitor, ALL ARE WELCOME TO ENTER.  I will mail prize anywhere, so international visitors, you are included.

One entry per person, please.  If the first name I draw does not include contact information left in their comment, I will have to draw another.  The drawing will be on Sunday, February 15, and I will contact the winner at that time as well as post the winner's name here.

I hope you have fun at the party, and would love to have you come back soon!

  12. Hi Kathleen. I am touring with the GYB partiers and chuckled at the name of your blog ... then had a good laugh with 'now live about three miles north of Wal-Mart, but I don't think that has the same ring to it. :)'.
I love your sense of humour ! Will be back to take a stroll through your blog !

  15. Finally home and will be reading all about your kitchen reveal in a moment but I wanted to drop a quick line here to enter your fabulous giveaway (how did you know my oven mitts are absolutely thrashed? hope I win!).

I'm still laughing about your not re-naming your blog to match your new location - I love the Four Miles name.

  16. I enjoyed taking a look around your blog. I was impressed with your new kitchen. Had to laugh about the garbage disposal switch. Mine is inside my cabinet under the sink. So, not only do I have wet slippery hands, I also have to open a door to get to it. Obviously designed by a man (grin).

Loved the visit, since this is my first time at GYB, as well as your blog. http://alteredbooklover.blogspot.com/2015/01/grow-your-blog-blog-hop-event.html

  42. HI Kathleen - thanks for visiting Comptonia on your GYB Party travels :)
I also have a renovation project going, turning my screenporch into an insulated, all-year-round bedroom with windows on three sides. Reno is one of those good-news-bad-news deals, isn't it? But at least it ends with the GOOD news!
I would love to be entered in your giveaway, and my fingers will be firmly crossed, I can always be reached through a comment over at http://comptonia.blogspot.com/
    Thanks!

  45. I so envy anyone who is able to sew! I do a little handwork, but sewing on a machine intimidates me! I can remember the thread getting all knotted up in the machine whenever I would try to use the machine--so--I gave up! I have been teaching myself to crochet and love it so far! "C" and I keep talking about trying to get on a regular posting schedule and grow our blog because we both really do like writing. We ask "what is wrong with us?" She is busy at work--but what's MY excuse? Yes, I love your blog name--hope you don't ever change it!
