Runts...
I garnered this sugary-sweet trivia from Cash Cab (love that show on Discovery channel). Runts were created when the manufacturer was looking for a neater way to package/market Pixy Stix. If you're not familiar with Pixy Stix, they are basically just drinking straws filled with fruit-flavored sugar, which you then tip up and pour into your mouth. It's one of those things kids love and parents hate.
The solution really upped the cute factor too!
Wow I didn't know that. I love both, however, pixie sticks are still my fave.
