Autumn in my world...

South Texas autumns don't quite look like the autumn we experienced on vacation last week, but its own kind of beauty makes the hot summers here bearable. Cool nights...sunny days...low humidity...fewer bugs. And at home, sitting on the porch that I love (but not enough to sit out on when it's 105 degrees F.) fills me with peace.

Today (and every day) I am thankful for my home.

  1. That's one of the first things I love... that in early September (here) the nights are already so much cooler even at 7pm. whoof. Thank Goodness. :)

  2. My daughter has a natural colored wicker swing on the front porch of her new farm home! My granddaughter and I sat on it for a few minutes Sunday evening--when we weren't cooking! Reminds me of my great-grandparents house where my mom said my g-g-grandmother rocked me for hours. My paternal grandmother had a porch swing too. Maybe that's why I love them so much!

  3. Steph, doesn't it seem like when things start cooling off just a little people start being nicer to each other? Seems like it here anyway. :)

C & V, I love our porch swing! And I know that I longed for one for so long, because of memories of loved ones.

I have had a lot of really gross spam comments left lately, so I am having to turn comment moderation back on. To my nice blog friends, my apologies if this makes it more difficult for you to comment. To the mean naughty-talk spammers, just go away!
